Accreditations and Compliance

Every organisation that works with Dampsafe should be able to verify our credentials quickly and without having to ask. This page sets out our current accreditations, what each one means in practice, and how to confirm them independently.

SafeContractor Approved

Dampsafe is SafeContractor approved, independently assessed against the SafeContractor Assessment Standards covering health and safety policy, risk management, and safe working practices.

What this means for housing providers and FM teams

SafeContractor approval satisfies the standard contractor pre-qualification requirements used by housing associations, local authorities, and facilities management organisations across the UK. If your procurement process requires SSIP recognised pre-qualification, Dampsafe meets that requirement without any additional checks on your side.

Scope of approval

  • Damp proofing

  • Deep cleaning

  • Reactive maintenance

  • Assessed competency: COSHH compliance, working at height, work with hazardous substances

Certificate details

  • Certificate number: OY9994

  • Issued: 14th May 2026

  • Valid until: 14th May 2027

Full validation can be made via the SSIP Portal: www.ssipportal.org.uk

SSIP Recognised

SafeContractor is a founder member of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) and is UKAS accredited under ISO 17020:2012. SSIP is the umbrella body that allows mutual recognition across health and safety pre-qualification schemes used throughout the UK construction, housing, and facilities management sectors.

SSIP recognition means that Dampsafe’s SafeContractor approval is accepted across all member schemes without the need for re-assessment. For procurement teams working within frameworks that specify SSIP membership, Dampsafe meets that requirement.

ABBE Level 3 Award in Damp and Mould Surveying

Dampsafe’s surveys are delivered by ABBE Level 3 qualified surveyors. The ABBE Level 3 Award in Damp and Mould Surveying is the nationally recognised qualification for professionals conducting damp and mould assessments in residential properties, aligned with the requirements of Awaab’s Law.

Every compliance survey and HHSRS assessment delivered by Dampsafe is conducted or supervised by an ABBE Level 3 qualified surveyor, providing the technical foundation for audit-ready reporting.

ICO Registered

Dampsafe is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for the lawful processing of personal data in connection with our surveying and remediation activities.

ICO Registration number: ZC101027

COSHH Compliant Processes

All Dampsafe operatives are COSHH trained and work in accordance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. Treatment products are selected and applied in accordance with COSHH risk assessments, and all operatives are equipped with appropriate PPE for the materials and environments they work in.

This is particularly important in occupied homes. Dampsafe’s COSHH compliance is a condition of our SafeContractor approval and is assessed as part of that process.

DBS Checked Operatives

All Dampsafe operatives working in occupied properties are DBS checked. Our teams work regularly in homes with vulnerable tenants, elderly residents, and families with children. DBS checking is a baseline requirement for every operative we deploy, not an optional extra.
