Responsible business
Our commitment
Dampsafe Limited is committed to conducting business responsibly and treating people with dignity and respect.
We do not tolerate forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, coercion or any other form of modern slavery within our business or supply chain.
Dampsafe is a specialist damp and mould contractor supporting housing providers and their residents. Our services are delivered primarily through our own workforce, supported by suppliers of treatment products, cleaning equipment, PPE, workwear, tools, vehicles and business services.
As a small UK business with a directly managed workforce and predominantly UK-based suppliers, we consider our exposure to modern slavery to be relatively low. However, we recognise that risks can exist within any organisation or supply chain.
Proportionate controls
Our approach
- Checking that employees have the right to work in the UK
- Providing clear information about employment terms and pay
- Paying workers through documented payroll arrangements
- Not charging recruitment fees or retaining identity documents
- Expecting suppliers and business partners to comply with employment and modern slavery legislation
- Investigating any concerns brought to our attention
Core damp and mould remediation work is undertaken by our own directly engaged workforce and is not routinely subcontracted.
Resident safeguarding
Working in occupied homes
Our teams frequently work in occupied homes and may encounter vulnerable residents or circumstances that raise safeguarding concerns.
Employees are expected to report concerns through the appropriate Dampsafe and client safeguarding routes. If someone appears to be in immediate danger, the concern should be referred to the appropriate emergency service or public authority.
Speak up
Raising a concern
Anyone who suspects modern slavery or unethical employment practices connected with Dampsafe should raise the matter with a line manager or the Managing Director.
Concerns will be handled sensitively and acted upon where appropriate. No person should suffer detrimental treatment for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
Statement status
A voluntary statement
Dampsafe Limited does not currently meet the turnover threshold requiring publication of an annual modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We publish this statement voluntarily to communicate our standards to employees, clients, suppliers and residents.
